(New Hartford, Herkimer and Verona, NY – March 2013) BOCES will host a Spring Open House and College Fair on Wednesday March 13. It will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Career and Technical Education Centers on the New Hartford (Middle Settlement Road), the Herkimer (Gros Boulevard) and the Verona (Spring Road) campuses.
Students, parents, educators and community members in the Madison-Oneida BOCES and OHM BOCES regions will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from local and regional two- and four-year colleges. Representatives from the BOCES Adult and Continuing Education programs also will be available to answer questions about classes.
Herkimer BOCES will have local business representatives in attendance to discuss career ladders in the Mohawk Valley.
State-of-the-art classrooms and learning laboratories will be open to visitors. Displays of equipment, student projects, presentations, and student demonstrations, along with opportunities to meet with CTE teachers, will be included in the evening’s program.
Some of the workshops include: Culinary Arts Demonstrations, Early Childhood Education, Electricity/HVAC demonstrations, Conservation, Cosmetology and more.
