Cazenovia College students seek to raise awareness of bone marrow donor program
(Cazenovia, NY – April 2013) Students in Cazenovia College’s Event Management class will be hosting a Be The Match Walk in Cazenovia on April 20 in an effort to raise awareness for Be The Match – a national bone marrow donor program.
Students, the entire College family, and community members in Cazenovia and throughout Central New York are invited to participate in the Walk and consider becoming a part of the Be The Match Registry.
Registration and check-in will begin at 1:15 p.m., on the Cazenovia College campus Quad. The walk begins at 2 p.m., from the Park Hall lot (just north of the campus Quad) and ends at Dave’s Diner in Cazenovia, where a post-walk reception will be held. Guests attending the reception will have the opportunity to participate in a cheek swab and join the Be The Match Registry. There is no fee to participate in the walk.
“We are very excited about this upcoming event,” said senior Equine Business Management major, Jennifer Krist, of Marlborough, Conn. “It is an inspirational cause and we hope that both the campus and the wider community will come out and show their support.”
