To the Editor:

Dairy producers like Byrne Dairy and the emerging Greek yogurt industry have become a major part of the Central New York economy. By increasing the number of cows a farmer can maintain before being hit with costly concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) regulations, we are ensuring that the milk fueling this boom is from New York and that any new jobs go to our local farms.

Earlier this year, I reached out to the governor to reduce these costly regulations because eliminating this burden will provide a much-needed boost to our economy by creating local jobs and increasing revenue for our small dairy farms.
