Money Raised Helps Fund Trips and Special Events
(Oneida, NY – April 2013) Win a gift for yourself or a friend and at the same time pick up some homemade baked goods at the Oneida Nation Elders Program gift basket bonanza and bake sale. The event is open to the public 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 26 at the Ray Elm Children and Elders Center, 5000 Skenondoa Way, Oneida.
The raffle will feature gift baskets with various items created and donated by Oneida Nation Elders. Visitors can also buy a variety of homemade baked goods.
Money raised at the gift basket raffle and bake sale helps pay for Oneida Nation Elders Program trips and special events, like the annual Christmas dinner. Elders involved in the program take an active role in planning and staffing the raffle and bake sale.
The Elders Program is part of the Oneida Nation’s Government Programs and Services department. The program provides participants a daily meal and gives Elders the opportunity to take trips and participate in other activities. The program also hosts an annual Elders Conference focusing on a variety of health and wellness topics.
