(Chittenango, NY – April 2013) On April 23, the Chittenango Village Board approved a contract hiring of Fred Corey as the new police chief.
Corey has been a police officer for 24 years before retiring. As an officer he has risen through the ranks to lieutenant with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department as well as sergeant with the town of Clay Police Department.
“He has much experience in managing personnel as well as a wide variety of policing activities,” said Chittenango Mayor Ronny Goeler. “He looks forward to working with the village of Chittenango and its community.”
“The village board encourages everyone to make Chief Corey a part of this community by welcoming him when you see him,” Goeler said.
