(Oneida, NY – May 2013) People began lining up at the Kallet Center in Oneida more than four hours early Saturday April 27 for the fifth annual Community Bikes Day. By the end of the day nearly 150 children, teens and adults who would otherwise not have access to a bike had received a bike, helmet and lock.
“We’re extremely grateful to all those who donated bicycles, and to the many volunteers who helped make this day possible,” said Community Bikes’ Chuck Fox.
Community Bikes will continue to offer bike workshops, events and an earn-a-bike program through the summer.
