(Canastota, NY – May 2013) Canal Town director Joe DiGiorgio is shown receiving from Izac J. Rebres a tugboat model in memory of his grandfather, Richard A. Rebres, who built the boat. Izac is a third grader at South Side Elementary School in Canastota.
Izac’s grandfather was a history buff and model maker of vehicles, airplanes and boats. The donated boat is radio controlled and can be maneuvered for demonstration.
The Canastota Canal Town Museum is opened Tuesday-Saturday during June from noon to 3 p.m. and in July and August the museum is opened 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
