(Hamilton, NY – June 5, 2013) On the campus of Colgate UTori Hysell Ron Bono for webniversity Reality Check of Madison, Oneida and Herkimer Counties and BRiDGES to Prevent Tobacco honored youth members of Reality Check and community champions on Wednesday June 5. Honor was given to those whom have been working to prevent the impact of tobacco and tobacco marketing in their communities.

Among those honored include Eric Faisst Madison County Public Health Director; the Madison County Board of Supervisors; Roger Bradstreet, supervisor for the town of Nelson; Ron Bono, supervisor for the town of Madison and Tori Hysell from Madison was named this year’s Youth Advocate of the Year.

“Mr. Bono is being honored for leading the Madison County Building and Grounds Committee in support of the new local law restricting tobacco use on all County property, said Joe Wicks, program coordinator for Madison County BRiDGES to Prevent Tobacco.”He has been very welcoming to both the Reality Check youth and to the Tobacco Prevention Programs at BRiDGES.”

Also honored was Sangertown Mall for its smoke free grounds policy, the Oneida Girl Scout Troop #20128 with their leader Tiffany Canning and Steve Eddy Youth and Family Services Director at the Oneida YMCA.
