(June 2013) The Andrew D. Rossetti Scholarship Fund Committee awarded $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors from the Camden, Canastota and Madison school districts planning to pursue a career in teaching.

The Rossetti Scholarships, awarded on June 5, 2013, were created in 1988 to honor Andrew D. Rossetti, an Oneida resident and District Superintendent of the Madison-Oneida BOCES from 1973 to 1984. Rossetti, also a former Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Superintendent, had a lifelong passion for teaching.

Lillian Rossetti, Andrew Rossetti’s widow, presented the awards to this year’s recipients. Since its inception in 1988, the Andrew D. Rossetti Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $70,000 to over 80 local graduates.

The 2013 scholarship winners are:

  • Kaitlin Chase, of Camden who plans to study English at Cazenovia College. She is the daughter of Keith Chase.
  • Sarah Hannon, of Canastota, who plans to study early childhood education at SUNY Brockport. She is the daughter of Chris and Melissa Hannan.
  • Rachel Rockwell, of Madison, who plans to study music education at SUNY Potsdam. She is the daughter of Theresa Rockwell.
