(Oneida, NY – June 2013) It is that time of year to purchase your very own hop plant. Once again, Norm Dann will be selling hop plants on behalf of the Madison County Historical Society’s Hop Fest.  Please call Norm Dann at 315.380.9389 to purchase your $5 hop plant.

The 18th Annual Madison County Hop Fest presented by the Madison County Historical Society and the NYS Barn Coalition is Sept. 13 to 15.

The weekend begins Friday, Sept. 13 with a paired beer dinner at Hamilton Inn in Hamilton.

Join us on Saturday, Sept. 14 on the grounds of the Madison County Historical Society for hop-related programs offered by guest speakers from the NYS Barn Coalition.

In addition, we are pleased to have returning guest speakers from Madison and Otsego Counties. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to speak with experts in the field of brewing and growing hops.

The Taste of Hops: a food and beer pairing will once again be offered at the Hop Fest. Masterfully crafted appetizers will be prepared by Colgate Inn, Hamilton Inn, Madison Bistro, Sherwood Inn, Ye Olde Landmark Tavern and Phoebe’s- more to be added.

From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. join us under the beer tent for samples from your favorite craft breweries. Complete your Hop Fest weekend on Sunday with us for our Agricultural Development Tour: Period Barns to Hop Houses.

Advance sale tickets for all Hop Fest weekend activities will be available online at the society’s website and at participating locations soon. Watch for special discounts for early bird tickets on our website.  There is no admission to attend the Hop Fest. There is an admission fee for the beer sampling, Taste of Hops, Paired Beer Dinner and Agricultural Development Tour: Period Barns to Hop Houses.
