To the Editor:

(Earlville, Lebanon, NYletterstotheeditor) I read with sadness the passing of Bob Hazard of Earlville, the former town of Lebanon bookkeeper and all-around nice guy.

On behalf of the Lebanon Town Board, I wanted to extend our condolences to his family and our thanks for his years of service and friendship.

I found Bob to be one of the most reliable and cooperative people I have ever had the pleasure of working with; he was always on time or early with his work, knew his stuff, he was very thorough and always had a very amusing story to tell.

He was a treasure trove of historical anecdotes and wry humor.

I also admired the wisdom he utilized in remaining far from the political fray, how he kept his cool, was always low key and knew how to work with everyone without hesitation.

Bob was one of the good guys.

He had his share of family loss and sadness, but remained optimistic about life. He was a great asset to the community and he will be missed.
