The goal is to provide each student with a backpack with donated supplies for the coming school year. Supply lists from teachers have been collected to reference what is needed for the upcoming year. It is important to equip our children, our future with the tools for them to be successful. It’s important for children to feel ready, to have a positive mind set before they walk through the school’s doors. The more prepared they are for the school day, the more apt to learn and appreciate what they have.

The Salvation Army Oneida Service Unit is grateful for the continuing cooperative partnership between different organizations in the community. Donations are currently being collected at Price Chopper, NYE Ford, First United Methodist Church, and Oneida Recreation Department and will be gathered and distributed to students at the end of the month.

What to donate: pens, pencils, loose-leaf paper (college and wide ruled), colored pencils, markers, erasers, 1½”/ 2”binders, folders (including specific solid colors: red, green, blue, yellow), index cards, clear plastic sleeves, tab dividers, sketch books, one-subject and three-subject notebooks, glue sticks and scissors.
