Boy Scouts(Utica, NY- Sept. 5, 2013) Now through the end of September The Revolutionary Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America is accepting nominations for area businesses that display outstanding leadership qualities.

Two awards will be given at the Council’s 2013 Leadership Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 14: The General George Washington Award for a for-profit business and The General Nicholas Herkimer Award for a not-for-profit business.

Any for-profit and not-for-profit business in Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oneida and Otsego counties may apply as long as the entity has been in business for a minimum of two years. Self-nomination and employee nominations are encouraged. To be considered, the entity must have demonstrated the core qualities of Scouting: citizenship and caring, leadership, self-sufficiency, and the ability to overcome obstacles.

Nominations are due by September 30th. To nominate a business, you can find the nomination form online at www.scoutingcny.org or call the Council office at 315.735.4437.
