(Town of Madison, NY – Sept. 2013) The Town of Madison Seniors are traveling with Good Time Bus Tours to tour Letchworth State Park on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Letchworth State Park is a 17-mile long park along the Genesee River in Livingston and Wyoming counties. The river has carved a gorge though the middle of the park that is as deep as 550 feet in some places, earning it the nickname, “Grand Canyon of the East.”
A tour guide will board the bus to tour the 17-mile park and stop at look-out points to view the waterfalls and fall foliage.
Lunch will be served at the Glen Iris Inn, which overlooks Middle Falls and has welcomed guests as a country inn since 1914.
The tour leaves the Madison Historical Society, South Street, Madison at 7 a.m. and returns around 6:30 p.m.
The Town of Madison supplemented the cost of the trip for seniors living within the town ($35 for Madison, Bouckville and Solsville) but the trip is open to all seniors ($45 for ages 50 and up).
