cross-church1-150x150(Canastota, NY – Nov. 29, 2013) Hope Christian Fellowship, located at 119 South Peterboro St., is participating in several special events during December to which the public is invited.

On Dec. 1 the first Sunday of Advent, the Canastota Area Association of Churches will hold a community-wide Advent service beginning at 4 p.m. at St. Agatha’s Church, 329 North Peterboro St.  An offering will be received to benefit the Opportunity Shop ecumenical thrift store and food pantry, 128 East Center Street; and the Loaves and Fishes Hospitality Center soup kitchen held during the last week of each month at the United Church, 144 West Center St.

On Friday, Dec. 7 the Black Celestial Choral Ensemble of Syracuse University will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. at Hendricks Chapel on the campus quad.  Tickets are $3 and may be purchased at the Schine Student Center Box Office, either in person or by phone, in advance or at the time of the program; tickets will not be available at the door.

On Sunday, Dec. 15 a special event for youth from pre-school through sixth grade will be held following the regular morning service at Hope Christian Fellowship, beginning at 1 p.m.  There is no admission charge; young people will work on crafts, and refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, Dec. 22 the children of Hope Christian Fellowship will present an Advent Program as part of the regular morning worship service that begins at 10:30 a.m.
