(Oneida, NY – Dec. 2013) With a virtuoso portrayal of over 25 colorful characters, actor Kim Tenreiro will perform his one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story, “A Christmas Carol,” in the historic Big Hall of the Oneida Community Mansion House on Thursday evening Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.

Co-sponsored by Oneida Public Library and the Mansion House as a free holiday entertainment for all ages, Tenreiro’s “A Christmas Carol” is in the tradition of Dickens himself, who had a lucrative second career performing his story on stage in England and the United States. Tenreiro gives voice to about two-thirds of Dickens original text, including dialogue in the distinctive voice of each character.

Tenreiro has performed his well-reviewed play many times at various venues in the Finger Lakes Region, including his hometown of Canandaigua. He often performs for free in support of not-for-profit organizations and local charities.

“Most people have a little Scrooge in them at one point or another, and when I catch that coming out I have the chance to change things for the better,” he told the “Daily Messenger” of Canadaigua.

Parking for the Mansion House, 170 Kenwood Ave. in the Kenwood section of Oneida is available in the Vineyard across the way from the main entrance.
