(Madison County, NY – Jan. 2014) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County will again provide free tax assistance to those 60 years of age and older residing in Madison County; at this time CCE is unable to take individuals under 60 years old.

The program will begin Feb. 1 and end on April 15.

Tax Counselors have been trained and certified. They will be available to assist seniors in preparing and submitting their Federal and NYS tax forms for the 2013 tax season.  The IRS has limited the scope of the returns that volunteers are allowed to prepare.

Anyone claiming losses due to the flooding this past summer will not qualify for this service.

There are 2 Walk-in Sites available: Oneida Public Library, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon and the Canastota Public Library, Mondays from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
