Cornell Cooperative Extension

(Morrisville, NY – Feb. 2014) At 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, dairy farmers who receive monthly milk urea nitrogen reports will meet at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County, 100 Eaton St., Morrisville.

The discussion, featuring Sarah Cough, dairy nutritionist with Nelson Dairy Consultants, will look at how MUN values indicate how well rumen microbes synthesize protein and if they are making the best use of nitrogen from feedstuffs in the ration.

Participants will also review various farm scenarios with different MUN values and discuss what they indicate and strategies to alter or correct them.

For more information or to register online, visit reg.cce.cornell.edu/MUN_225 or call 315.684.3001. The cost is $10 per person, which covers refreshments and handouts.
