(Cazenovia, NY – Feb. 2014) Adult literacy learner Richard Benner is congratulated by Cazenovia Public Library Director Betsy Kennedy for earning his GED.
Benner may be one of the last people to earn the GED in Central New York. As of January, the GED is no longer being offered in New York state. A new test, the Test Assessing Secondary Completion, is being developed as the New York state high school equivalency exam, re-designed to meet Common Core standards.
