(Eaton, Wampsville, NY – March 2014) Cindy Edick has formally announced her candidacy for re-election to the position of Madison County Treasurer. Edick, a Republican, was first elected to the Treasurer position in 2006.
“Over the past several years, my staff and I have focused on providing quality services to our citizens,” said Edick. “I would appreciate the opportunity to continue serving our valued customers.”
Edick believes she is the best candidate for the position, due to her combination of first-hand experience and education. “The County Treasurer position requires experience in fund accounting and reporting, delinquent tax collection and enforcement, and payroll and fringe benefits administration. These functions necessitate knowledge of a broad range of laws and regulations, accounting standards, policies and procedures,” she said
Prior to taking office, Edick was employed by the Madison County Treasurer’s Office as an Accountant, followed by her promotion to the position of Deputy Treasurer.
Edick is a graduate of Morrisville State College and Utica School of Commerce, with degrees in office technologies and business administration/accounting.
An Oneida County native, Edick has been a Madison County resident for 20 years. She presently resides in Eaton with her husband, John, and their daughter, Ashley.
Edick is a member of the Lairdsville United Methodist Church, where she serves as treasurer. She is also a member of the Madison County Republican Committee and the New York State Treasurers & Finance Officers Association.
