(Madison County, NY – April 2014) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County’s Agricultural Economic Development Program (AED) is looking for local businesses in the Central New York (CNY) region interested in sponsoring the County’s 7th Annual Open Farm Day, July 26.
Open Farm Day is a signature event scheduled just as the growing season gets into full swing, drawing thousands of visitors to farms all over Madison County. Last year, 20,000 passports were printed by Price Chopper grocery stores and distributed as inserts in three local newspapers, at ten Price Chopper locations all over Oneida, Madison and Onondaga Counties, farmers’ markets, and throughout Madison County.
Open Farm Day is an opportunity to connect with local CNY consumers.
New this year, AED is offering online advertising opportunities as well as print ads in the Open Farm Day passport to sponsors. Sponsoring the event by purchasing an advertising package for your local business or restaurant will provide you with great exposure to residents of Madison, Onondaga, Oneida and surrounding counties. Visitors to Open Farm Day carry the passport with them to all the farms, guaranteeing the visibility of your ads.
Through the AED program’s relentless marketing strategy, over 2.45 million readers, viewers and listeners in Central New York and New England are made aware of Open Farm Day annually. Last year, Open Farm Day events resulted in 15 print articles, 2 television appearances, and 8 radio interviews. These numbers do not include purchased print advertisements on six websites and in three newspapers, or active social media accounts.
