New midway rides planned
(Brookfield, NY – May 2014) On July 10 through 13, the Madison County Fair will celebrate its 175th anniversary. Since 1839, the Fair has provided a showplace for accomplishments, talents, achievements and new ideas. The theme for this special edition of the Fair – “Preserving the Past, Forging into the Future” – reflects this mission.
Plans are underway to bring back some old favorites along with some new exciting shows, contest and surprises.
A new midway will set the stage for an exciting event. Join us in welcoming Wheelock Rides to the fairgrounds this July. Wheelock Rides is a family-oriented show with three generations currently working their midways and has been declared “The Finest Midway in Central New York.”
If 175 years and a new midway are not enough cause for celebration, we have been informed that Madison County Fair has the largest number of talent show participants in New York state.

Anyone interested in volunteering their time or talent is urged to contact a Fair Board member. Please note – you do not have to reside in Madison County to help with this history-making celebration.
