(Cazenovia, NY – July 2014) The National School Public Relations Association has recognized the Cazenovia Central School District with two awards for its communications efforts.

NSPRA’s 2014 Publications and Electronic Media Contest recognizes outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, electronic media programs, radio/TV/cable, CD/DVD programs and Internet websites. The contest is open to all public or private schools and school districts. There were 725 entries total and 512 entries in the publications portion.

Cazenovia received one award in the Excellence in Writing category and one in the Calendar category.

The association recognized 35 entries in the Excellence in Writing category. A news story posted on the district website about a Stickley podium being discovered in a classroom was one of 11 articles to win an Award of Merit.

Twenty-four districts were recognized in the Calendar category, and Cazenovia’s 40-page 2013-14 district calendar was one of nine entries to receive an Award of Merit.
