MR-12-2014 mccmc (Summer Nutrition)Community Action Partnership News

(Madison County, NY – July 2014) Community Action Partnership announced recently it will be sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program for Madison County students beginning Monday, July 7, to be held through Aug. 15 at the American Legion pavilion on Main Street in Oneida.

The SFSP is designed to provide free summer lunches to low-income children under 18 (and young adults with a disability ages 21 and under) that receive free and reduced-price school meals during the school year but lose access to these meals when the school year ends.

We are partnering with Karing Kitchen and the Oneida Council of Churches to be able to provide parents who come to attend with their child, a lunch meal, as well. It is advised that an adult or guardian accompany younger children to the lunch site, as childcare is not provided.

Meals are not allowed to be taken off site. Every day, the lunch will consist of milk, fruit or vegetable, grain and a protein.

We also have a special plan for every Fabulous Friday.

Don’t miss it – school is out, summer meals are in!
