(Hamilton, NY – July 2014) More than 200 Colgate students are conducting innovative research across academic disciplines on campus in Hamilton this summer. Examples of some research projects this year include the examination of exoskeletons in barnacles, the genealogy of Confucianism, the flow of flexible filaments and assessing the antibacterial activity of traditional medicinal plants used by some Native Americans.
Simone Schenkel of Hamilton is conducting research in Upstate Institute and Margaret Wolsey of Cazenovia is conducting research in biology.
