Madison County Residents Receive College Degrees
Cazenovia College honored the Class of 2014 on May 17 at the institution’s 189th Commencement ceremony.
Those graduates from Madison County include:
Shadé Cush of Chittenango earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management: Business Management.
Maureen E. Dailey of Chittenango earned an Associate of Science in Human Services.
Erica Ellison of Cazenovia earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.
Kailee Anne Findlay of Canastota earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art.
Megan Renee Hayes of Cazenovia earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Stephanie Elaine Leonard of Canastota earned an Associate of Science in Liberal Studies.
Laura Ashley Moran of Morrisville earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services.
William John Paben of Cazenovia earned an Associate of Science in Human Services.
Matthew R. Pelton of Cazenovia earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Olivia Summer Roig of Chittenango earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Molly Ann Smith of Cazenovia earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology.
McPeak Named to Dean’s List
Erin McPeak of Chittenango is among the more than 1,480 students named to The University of Scranton Dean’s List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2014 spring semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean’s List.
McPeak, a human resources studies major, is a senior in Scranton’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.
Students Make the Spring Dean’s List at SUNY Buffalo State
The following students were named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at SUNY Buffalo State. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Caton Makes the Spring President’s List
Margret Caton, Earlville resident and a student at Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,000 students who made the President’s List in the Spring 2014 semester.
Carroll Makes the Spring Dean’s List
Patrick Carroll, Waterville resident and a student at Pratt Institute, was among more than 1,000 students who made the Dean’s List in the Spring 2014 semester.
SUNY Potsdam Recognizes Area Graduates
The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized more than 900 candidates for graduation during the College’s 2014 Commencement celebrations. At Commencement, SUNY Potsdam honors students who have either earned their degree or are eligible to graduate during that calendar year.

Gifford Named to NEAC Scholar Athlete List
The NEAC Conference announced its 2013-14 NEAC Scholar-Athlete selections with 511 student-athletes from the conference’s 16 member institutions receiving the honor. In order to qualify, student-athletes must have maintained a combined 3.4 GPA or higher over the 2013-14 fall and spring semesters.
Included among the honorees was Brett Gifford of Cazenovia, a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering Tech.

Seniors Receive Scholarships from FocalPoint Federal Credit Union
FocalPoint Federal Credit Union, Syracuse congratulates the winners of its annual college scholarship program. Candidates were judged by the Credit Union Association of New York on academic, extracurricular and community accomplishments, and competed against nearly 1,500 students statewide. Each graduate will receive a $500 award.
Karlene Becker, Chittenango High School, Chittenango. She is the daughter of Debra and Thomas Becker of Chittenango. She will attend SUNY Cortland and major in special education.
Paige Wooldridge, Chittenango High School, Chittenango. She is the daughter of Carolyn Bross and Shane Wooldridge of Chittenango. She will attend SUNY Morrisville and major in Applied Psychology.
Brittany Geiler, Chittenango High School, Chittenango. She is the daughter of Cheryl and Jon Geiler of Chittenango. She plans to attend SUNY Potsdam and major in Biochemistry.
Sophia Cowburn, Chittenango High School, Chittenango. She is the daughter of Heather Tyler-Cowburn and George Cowburn of Chittenango. She plans to attend SUNY Fredonia and major in Adolescent English Education.
