Two Plus Two Agreement Announced July 22

(Cazenovia, NY – Aug. 2014) In a ceremony at Onondaga Community College, President Casey Crabill, Ed.D., and Cazenovia College President Mark J. Tierno, D.A., formally signed a 2+2 partnership agreement. Effective immediately, students can register for the new 2+2 program, which will require completion of two years of prescribed coursework at Onondaga to earn an associate’s degree, and then continue at Cazenovia to earn a bachelor’s degree in two additional years.

The agreement covers 13 degree programs at Onondaga, including business administration, interior design and photography. The agreement covers 26 degree programs at Cazenovia including criminal justice, human services, studio art, visual communications, interior design and management programs. Students enrolled in the 2+2 partnership will receive academic advising from both Onondaga and Cazenovia throughout the program.

“We are thrilled to continue to strengthen our partnership with Cazenovia College,” said Crabill. “Students pursuing a four-year degree have the ability to start with a firm foundation at Onondaga and continue their education with a seamless transfer to Cazenovia College. We are proud to partner with Cazenovia and to offer students an affordable pathway from an associate degree to a baccalaureate degree.”

“Students will appreciate the value of completing their associate’s degree at Onondaga Community College and transferring to Cazenovia College to complete their bachelor’s degree,” said Tierno. “This college partnership provides a clear path to completion and is a cost-effective approach for today’s college student.”

Tierno added that Cazenovia College’s academic opportunities, supportive atmosphere and competitive scholarship continue to draw an increasing number of transfer students from all over the United States.

With Cazenovia, Onondaga now has 2+2 agreements with seven schools: University at Buffalo, SUNY Alfred, Syracuse University, St. John Fisher College, Le Moyne College and SUNY Potsdam. Cazenovia College has similar agreements with Mohawk Valley Community College, Herkimer College, Monroe Community College and Hudson Valley Community College.
