  1. Proposed Local Law authorizing a property tax levy in excess of the limit established by General Municipal Law
  2. Proposed Local Law to Establish a Public Nuisance Abatement Program

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

*Approval of minutes – regular meeting of August 5, 2014

*Approval of Warrant No. 16

 

  1. MONTHLY REPORTS: Receive and place on file monthly reports from the Chamberlain, City Clerk, Comptroller, Fire Chief, Police Chief, City Engineer, and Recreation Director.

 

  1. PUBLIC NUISANCE ABATEMENT PROGRAM COMMENTS:  Receive and place on file the comments received via-email from Peter Hedglon dated August 6, 2014 relative to the proposed Local Law to establish a Public Nuisance Abatement Program. (Pulverenti)

 

  1. RE-APPOINTMENTS:  Approve the re-appointments of Harriet Collins to the Board of Assessment Review and John Dunn and Dave Scholl to the Sign Review Board. (Mayor)

 

  1. BUDGET TRANSFERS: Approve budget transfers to cover the short shift account in the Fire Department and for health insurance. (Pease)

 

  1. PROPOSED LOCAL LAW TO AMEND THE CITY CHARTER:  Receive and place on file a proposed Local Law to change the terms of office for Mayor and Councilors from a two-year term to a four-year term subject to a mandatory referendum on the November 4, 2014 general election ballot, and schedule a Public Hearing on said proposed Local Law for Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers, 109 N. Main St., Oneida.  (Bell)

 

NEW BUSINESS

Due Process Hearings for Water/Sewer accounts will commence following the close of the Common Council meeting.
