Hanna for webDOT grant will expand apron, expand aircraft parking space

(Hamilton, NY – Sept. 2014) U.S. Representative Richard Hanna announced on Sept. 11 a nearly $650,000 grant for the Hamilton Municipal Airport from the Federal Aviation Administration to expand the general aviation apron and create additional space for aircraft parking.

The total grant award is $648,470 and it will cover new asphalt pavement, markings, drainage and edge lighting for the project. The apron will be expanded by approximately 47,800 square feet, and it will provide more space to park aircraft at the field.

Hanna said this expansion will benefit the general aviation airport.

“These improvements will help ensure the safety of air passengers, pilots, and airport employees,” Hanna said. “New asphalt, markings and lighting will greatly improve the efficiency at the air field, and I am pleased the FAA granted these funds to help with this project.”
