To the Editor:
(Chittenango, NY – Dec. 2014) The annual Eerie Halloween party Sunday, Oct.26, at the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum was a success with many children and some adults in costume. There are many groups to thank for their help with this event.
The Chittenango Middle School students volunteered at the craft table and other volunteers from the National Honor Society helped decorate on Saturday, as well as staffing the games Sunday and helping with the clean-up. Members of the Chittenango baseball and football teams and the Junior Honor Society also participated.
Candy and prizes were donated by the Rotary Club. St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus members (Bill Van Hoose, Phil Lawniczak, Pete Stevens and Jim Vittorio) and CLCBM volunteers (Jay Brandt, Bob Reed, Ann Butts, Rob Shoemaker, Ken Mangine, Matthew and Mike Lavoie) set up the haunted house.
The Chittenango Lions Club donated pumpkins, the LEOS dressed as characters in the haunted house, Ann Reschke donated candy, Dunkin Donuts donated donuts and Durfee’s farm the hay.
Other volunteers that day were CLCBM blacksmiths, parking assistants and the face painters (the Matthews family and Kiersten Endres).
A huge thank you goes out to all. For more information, visit www.clcbm.org.
