(Jan. 2015) Kimberly Jones of Kirkville was recently named to the President’s List for the Fall 2014 term at Hudson Valley Community College.

Each fall and spring, the college’s President’s List honors those students who have a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0. Jones is in the Computer Information Systems: Web Design and WWW Programming academic program at the college.

Matthew Participates in Innovative, Interdisciplinary Project

Matthew Bonavita of Cazenovia, a member of the class of 2015 at Pomfret School was recently part of an all-school academic experiment called Project: Pomfret.

From Dec. 2 to 17, in place of structured class time and homework, students were instead tackling one of twenty-seven innovative exercises in learning that saw plenty of overlap between academic disciplines. The list of topics ranged from geocaching, engineering, environmental, theatre and dance projects, to exploring the American legal system, the LGBT community, and Hollywood’s take on Word War II. Finished products included illustrated children’s books, a poignant and highly personal Hip-Hop playlist, and two par-3 miniature golf putting greens, complete with water hazard. There was even a project for aspiring photojournalists who documented the efforts of everyone else.

Matthew was in the group of students and faculty who collaborated on a project entitled “Saving Private Ryan: World War II, History, and Hollywood.”

Herkimer College Announces Dean’s List

Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 491 students for the fall 2014 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 320 were named to the Dean’s List for earning a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.79.

Providence College Student Named to Dean’s List

The following area resident has been named to the Dean’s List at Providence College for the Fall 2014 semester:

Abbey Cyr of Chittenango and a member of the class of 2018,

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.

Gysin Named to President’s List

Sakura Gysin a resident of Sherburne was among 467 students from Genesee Community College who were named to the President’s List for the Fall 2014 semester. Students honored on the President’s List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

Cazenovia College Announces Honors Lists

Cazenovia College recently released names of students honored for academic achievement during the fall semester of 2014. Those named to the Dean’s List have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) for all courses attempted and have earned 12 or more credits during the semester.

Local student named to fall 2014 Bucknell dean’s list

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2014-15 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition. Among them was:

Herkimer College Announces President’s List

Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 491 students for the fall 2014 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 171 students were named to the President’s List for earning a grade point average of 3.80 or higher.

Bonavita Earns High Honors

Matthew Bonavita of Cazenovia was recently named to the high honor roll for the fall term just ended at Pomfret School. A student earns high honors with a grade-point average of at least 3.5 and no grade lower than a B-. Matthew is a member of the Pomfret class of 2015.

Sampson Named to Dean’s List

1,467 students have been named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Keene State College. Among the honored students is Zachary Sampson of Earlville.

To qualify for the dean’s list, Keene State undergraduates must be enrolled in a degree program and must have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. Students must achieve a 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale to earn dean’s list honors.
