County Seal(Madison County, NY – Feb. 2015) Electronic recording (e-recording) in Madison County is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing faster, more cost-effective document recording.

“The Madison County Clerk’s office has implemented e-recording for real estate documents to streamline workflows and increase productivity,” said Madison County Clerk Denise Roe. “E-recording shortens recording timelines, reduces document rejections, streamlines accounting, and reduces postage and paper usage. It moves documents into the public record faster. Constituents have the convenience of filing anytime, anywhere, saving travel time and expense.”

With e-recording in Madison County now available, title companies, banks, attorneys, and other document submitters will have the option to electronically prepare, scan, or upload and submit documents to the clerk’s office for recording through Simplifile’s secure, web-based service.

“Customers will no longer have to rely on the mail, which can take several days or weeks for documents to be submitted, recorded, and mailed back from the county,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “E-recording through Simplifile is so much easier and more efficient. It allows customers to track the status of their documents and quickly make corrections if necessary to any rejected documents.”

Increased document security, fewer payment errors, and less overall paper waste are also some of the added benefits of e-recording.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.

Madison County joins more than 25 other e-recording counties in New York that have adopted Simplifile’s service, joining more than 1,185 recording jurisdictions nationwide that also e-record with Simplifile.
