AshleyPainting(Canastota, NY – May 2015) The Arc of Madison Cortland will be holding their Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony 5:30 p.m. on Friday June 5 at the Rusty Rail, Route 5 in Canastota.

The Arc will be presenting the following awards:  Employer of the Year – Crouse Community Center, Founder’s Humanitarian Award – Dr. Melinda McMinn & Crouse Hospital Staff, Executive Directors Award – Jessica Watkins, Presidents Award – Aaron Hammond, The Sandra DuBuke Direct Support Professional Award – Diane Truex, and Special Achievement Award – Diane Budnar.

Two self-advocates will be the hosts for the evening, Erica Ostwald and Ashley Tyler.  Both women serve on the Public Relations Committee for the Board of Directors. In addition, Deb Marshall, a self advocate and a member of the Madison County Motivators will be giving the keynote address.

Invited guest speaker will be Steven Kroll, Executive Director of NYSARC, Inc., the largest nonprofit organization of its kind supporting individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc of Madison Cortland is a chapter member of NYSARC, Inc.

Ashley Tyler is a local artist who donated an original oil painting, titled Hummingbirds, to The Arc of Madison Cortland, which will be raffled off at the dinner. Tickets may be purchased for the painting raffle at $5 each or 5 for $20 and are available at The Arc of Madison Cortland, 701 Lenox Ave., Oneida. Raffle tickets will also be available at the dinner.

The cost of the dinner is $20 and reservations may be made in advance at The Arc of Madison Cortland, 701 Lenox Ave., Oneida.
