Farmers’ Market at Cottage Lawn will be open every Tuesday June 2 to Oct. 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Madison County Historical Society in Oneida.
(Oneida, NY – May 2015) The 1st Annual Farmers’ Market at Cottage Lawn is set to open June 2 on the grounds of the Madison County Historical Society located at 435 Main St. in Oneida. The historical society’s headquarters, Cottage Lawn, built in 1849, embodies the picturesque Gothic Revival architectural style and provides for the perfect backdrop for the market. Cottage Lawn is located on Main Street (Route 46) a mile North of Route 5 in the City of Oneida and is centrally located toneighboring towns within a 20 mile radius.
The market, open every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and set to run through Oct. 20, will feature fresh, local, seasonal produce, pastured meats, cheeses, dog treats, honey, maple products, soaps, wood fired breads, herbs, coffee beans, baked goods and much more from 21 vendors.
Marlene Parlow, trustee of Madison County Historical Society, organizer of the market, and one of its vendors, is very excited to introduce the farmers’ market to the community on behalf of the board of trustees of the historical society. The market’s motto is “where families and farmers meet” that offers a great opportunity for a conversation between families and farmers to learn where our food comes from and how we can strive to make healthy food choices.

There are many things planned throughout the 19 week run of the market from: cooking demonstrations; game of croquet on the grounds; direct sales day; and crafters joining the market.
