Graduation-cap-greenJarvis earns SUNYAC Commissioner’s List honor

(June 2015) Kali Jarvis a resident of Canastota was one of 46 SUNY Potsdam student-athletes to earn a spot on the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Commissioner’s List for the spring semester, the conference announced Tuesday, June 16.

Jarvis is a senior member of the SUNY Potsdam Equestrian team. Players named to the commissioner’s list have a minimum 3.3 GPA based on three semesters at Potsdam.

Perrin nominated for Phi Theta Kappa membership

Bismarck State College celebrated its scholars and outstanding students at the 46th annual spring Recognition Ceremony April 22 in the Bavendick Stateroom of the National Energy Center of Excellence. Randy Perrin of Bridgeport was recognized and nominated for Phi Theta Kappa membership.

Students nominated for Phi Theta Kappa membership maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better and completed 15 semester hours of associate degree work in residence at BSC. They received a certificate and a paid induction fee into this international, two-year college honor society.

Gysin Named to Provost’s List

Sakura Gysin, a resident of Sherburne was among 221 students from Genesee Community College named to the new Provost’s List for the Spring 2015 semester. The Provost’s List was created to recognize part-time students who have earned a grade point average of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

Local Students Named to Provost’s List

A total of 141 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost’s List honors for the spring 2015 semester. To qualify for the Provost’s List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 480 students for the spring 2015 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 296 were named to the Dean’s List for earning a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.79.

Cyr Named to Dean’s List

The following area resident has been named to the Dean’s List at Providence College for the Spring 2015 semester:

DeRuyter Resident Leads by Example at National Conference

Elena Haskins, a rising sophomore in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, took the next step in her leadership journey when she attended the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.

Held at the University of Maryland, the conference provided a transformative experience and prepared Haskins to be a part of the next generation of leaders.

During the conference, Haskins attended workshops, met with Women of Distinction awardees and speakers, networked, and developed skills and confidence to prepare her for life after college.

Haskins was among 1,000 students selected to attend the conference from colleges and universities across the United States and two other countries.

Rinaldo Named to Dean’s List

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Allesandra Rinaldo of Cazenovia has been named to its Dean’s List for Spring 2015.
