Depausquele - horse(Brookfield, NY – June 2015) Despite threatening morning skies, the Brookfield Riding & Driving Association had a good turnout and beautiful day for its June 13 Western Show & Games.  It was a fun, beginner show just right for young riders and horses starting to show and game, as well as for older riders who are getting back in the saddle again.

For the first time, BR&DA added a “Gaited” division and the opportunity to see a new, local breed  – the Kentucky Mountain Saddle horses with their unusual, natural gaits and chocolate palomino colors.

Holly York judged the show for these young riders and the crew.

And to round off the day, Bob & Sons served a selection of food from breakfast sandwiches, loin pork and treats for the horses.

The next BR&DA show will be a laid-back “fun” Dressage show offering English, Western and even “Trail” dressage classes. It’s scheduled for Aug. 29. For details, visit http://www.brda.us/shows-events.html
