Madison County Tourism(Madison County, NY – Sept. 2015) Madison County Tourism has selected Keegan Associates Marketing & Communications to provide marketing and public relations support for a three-year period beginning in 2015.

Keegan Associates’ responsibilities will include partnering with Madison County Tourism, the county’s official tourism promotion agency, to increase visitor spending in the county. Initiatives will include developing strategies that will create brand awareness and visitor interest while supporting the efforts of Madison County’s tourism-related businesses to attract, support, and improve their customer base.

Primary components will include development of a new logo, a new mobile-friendly website, a fresh design for the Madison County travel guide, digital marketing support, and an expanded presence in travel and tourism media channels.

Joan Johnson, President of Madison County Tourism, said, “The purpose of our agency review was to find a marketing-communications firm that would be our business partner and help us achieve our strategic objectives and goals. We are excited that this relationship will help us grow the vital tourism economy in Madison County.”

Tourism is an essential industry in Madison County. According to data from Tourism Economics, visitors spent nearly $84 million in Madison County in 2014. This spending generated $10.3 million in state and local taxes, which saved the average Madison County household $383 and sustained nearly 2,000 jobs in the county.

“When you look at Madison County as a whole there are a lot of unique things to do including the Boxing Hall of Fame, Oz-Stravaganza, the Wild Animal Park, the award-winning Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum, amazing historical and cultural sites, an assortment of specialty shops, great restaurants, farms and outdoor activities plus all of the activities and events at the three colleges. All of this represents what is great about upstate New York. We consider this a wonderful opportunity and appreciate being selected by Madison County Tourism for the project,” said Hugh Keegan, President of Keegan Associates.
