(Madison County, NY – Sept. 2015) Madison County Reads Ahead is in need of volunteer tutors. The agency has clients seeking help they would like to match them up with a tutor immediately rather than put them on a waiting list. The public is asked to consider volunteering their time to help improve someone’s education and job perspectives.
A commitment of 2 to 3 hours once a week is all it takes to make a huge impact on a person’s life.
Tutor Training classes will take place in Oneida Tuesday, Oct. 27 and Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gorman Community Center in the Northside Shopping Plaza.
A second set of dates is available at the Cazenovia Library on Nov. 2 and 4, also from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Attend the training at whichever site fits your schedule and then tutor at the library site of your choice throughout Madison County.
Tutoring is done at the following libraries: Bridgeport, Brookfield, Canastota, Cazenovia, Chittenango, DeRuyter, Hamilton, Morrisville, New Woodstock and Oneida.
