IMG_0268(Town of Sullivan, NY – Oct. 7, 2015) Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a burglary that took place Oct. 5 on Ridge Road in the Madison County Town of Sullivan.

Numerous items were stolen from the residence, including cash, jewelry, and credit cards valued at several thousand dollars.

Madison County Sheriff Allen Riley is requesting the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the person in the images provided with this release. This male used a credit card that was stolen from the residence at the WalMart located in East Syracuse, as well as the Nice-N-Easy Grocery Shop located on Route 92 in Manlius. He is shown driving a motorcycle in one of the images.

If anyone was in the Ridge Road area yesterday afternoon and saw any suspicious activity, you are asked to contact Sheriff’s Investigators Confidential Tip Line at (315) 366-2429, or by calling (315) 366-2311 and ask to speak with Sergeant Julie Netzband or Investigator Stephen Sellin. You may also report any tip confidentially by visiting the Sheriff’s website (www.madisoncountysheriff.us) and click on “Report Crime/ Drug Tip.”

IMG_0262Sheriff Allen Riley is asking the public to be vigilant to this issue and to be attentive to securing homes and businesses, at all times, including the use of door and window locks, alarm systems activated (if installed), securing of valuables in a locked safe or off premise in a safety deposit box at your local financial institution. Outdoor equipment should be kept locked in a garage or shed if not in use. If you are leaving the area for an extended period of time, you can notify the Office of the Madison County Sheriff through their website (www.madisoncountysheriff.us) and click on “Property Check Request” – Sheriff’s patrol will do cursory checks on your property during your absence.

“Trust your feeling,” said Sheriff Riley. “If you see suspicious activity, report it to your local law enforcement agency immediately by dialing 911.”IMG_0269
