Bruce and Lee Johnson(Canastota, NY – Oct. 2015) A benefit has been planned for Bruce and Lee Johnson, a local couple who have been through numerous health issues recently.

Bruce had back surgery in May that he hasn’t been able to recover from. He needed a second surgery to remove an infection. His health continues to deteriorate.

While his wife, Lee was taking care of him and working 10-hour shifts, severe headaches revealed a brain tumor. She underwent surgery. The cancer has spread to her brain, liver and lymph nodes. Lee will undergo chemotherapy and radiation.

The Johnson’s medical bills are overwhelming.

The benefit will be held Saturday Oct. 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Rusty Rail, Route 5 in Canastota.

A buffet will be served from 7 to 9 p.m. and includes dessert, soda and coffee.

Music, a photo booth, a silent auction, basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle will be part of the event.

Tickets are selling for $20 in advance only.
