The store also will be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry.
CNY Flooring is owned and operated by Sidney Grant who grew up in the Chittenango, Cazenovia area and graduated from Cazenovia High School.
Before joining the Marine Corps, Grant worked for a local sub-contractor learning the flooring business. He spent nine years in the Marine Corps stationed out of Camp Lejeune, N.C. After his service he took up installing flooring once again and has spent more than 25 years in the flooring business.
Grant and his family left North Carolina and moved back to New York to be closer to family.
He opened CNY Flooring in August of this year.
CNY Flooring is a full-service flooring business. They specialize in hardwood, ceramic, porcelain, stone, tile, vinyl, linoleum and carpeting, including designer carpet from the Dixie Group.
Grant said unlike a big box store he offers a more personalized experience and there is less waiting for installation once the flooring has arrived.
“The bottom line price is what counts with flooring and installation,” Grant said.
The public is invited to stop in during the grand opening to meet Sid, his staff and his son, Brent.
