(Dec. 30, 2015) “College is a lot more expensive than it used to be,” said Assemblyman Bill Magee (D-Nelson). “The Get On Your Feet Loan Forgiveness Program that I helped pass will help hardworking, responsible graduates pay down their loans, so they can move forward with reaching their career goals, buying a home and raising a family without the burden of too much student debt.
“This program builds on the many initiatives I’ve advocated for to make it easier for local college graduates to stay right here in our region, including the New York State Young Farmers Loan Forgiveness Incentive Program, which forgives up to $50,000 in college debt for those who commit to operating a farm in our state for five years.”
