Nazareth College Announces December Graduates

Nazareth College Announces December 2015 Graduates. Included are:

Larissa Mitchell of Oneida, who earned a degree from Nazareth College in December 2015.Mitchell received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Thomas Cerio of Canastota earned a degree from Nazareth College in December 2015.Cerio received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

The graduates can chose to walk with the Class of 2016 during May Commencement exercises at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.

Local Students Receive Scholarships at Clarkson

Clarkson University has announced recipients of endowed, sponsored and Share Clarkson scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year.

David A. Chapman of Cazenovia, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary engineering and management received the Theodore Sr. and Wanda McWharf Endowed Scholarship.

Logan Carsten of Eaton, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering received the Class of 1947 Endowed Scholarship and the Stephen C. Redding ’63 Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Gregory J. Jasek of Chittenango, a senior majoring in aeronautical engineering received the John J. Bero Sr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Nathan and Janet Owen Endowed Scholarship.

Emily Elizabeth Gibbons of Chittenango, a junior majoring in engineering and management received the J.R. Weston Endowed Scholarship.

Lukas Alan Reynolds of Earlville, a senior majoring in mathematics received the Joel ’57 and Lynda Goldschein Endowed Scholarship Fund and the Theodore Sr. and Wanda McWharf Endowed Scholarship.

Kyle Egan Brown of Cazenovia, a junior majoring in civil engineering received the David L. Hall ’65, ’68 Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Patrick Karmis of Cazenovia, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering received the Arthur 47 & Dorothy Engle Distinguished Scholarship Fund.

Thomas Edward Lints of Canastota, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering received the Ernest ’42 and Constance Richmond Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Cameron Buell of Oneida, a sophomore majoring in civil engineering received the Barry S. Fischer ’54 Endowed Scholarship.

Benjamin Schiros of Leonardsville, a freshman majoring in environmental engineering received the Advani Endowed Scholarship.

A student who graduates with honors is indicated by the traditional Latin phrases summa cum laude, with highest honor (grade averages of 3.8 to 4.0); magna cum laude, with great honor (grade averages of 3.6 to 3.79); and cum laude, with honor (grade averages of 3.30 to 3.59).

Sulton Studying Abroad this Semester

David Sulton of Sherburne one of 53 SUNY Oneonta students studying abroad this semester. Sulton, a junior majoring in Criminal Justice and Spanish, is studying at the International Institute – Madrid in Spain.

Sulton was selected to receive the Gary and Pamela Tutty Study Abroad Scholarship, one of five scholarships established by the SUNY Oneonta College Foundation to support students who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad. Made possible through gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and community members, these scholarship are made available each semester to qualifying students.

SUNY New Paltz Dean’s List

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean’s List for the fall 2015 semester. Dean’s List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.
