Ten MOBOCES Career and Technical Education students will be heading to the SkillsUSA State Competition after earning a top 3 finish at the regional level.
SkillsUSA is an education-industry partnership that aims to help students excel in their CTE fields and promotes a skilled workforce. The event includes 50 different contests in various industry-specific skills as well as job, leadership and communication skills demonstrations.
The Regional SkillsUSA competition was held February 26 at Morrisville State College, and more than 700 high school students participated. The 33 MOBOCES students competed in 15 of the competitions.
Students who finish in the top 3 of their contest are eligible to compete at the state level. This year, states will be held from April 27-29 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. State winners are eligible to move on to nationals.
