State Police in Lysander are investigating a suspicious death at 113 Coachman’s Whip Drive in the Town of Lysander, Onondaga County.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. Onondaga County 911 received a report of a deceased male at the residence.

Christopher P. Goulette, 29, who resides at the residence, was found by a family member deceased.

State Police are interviewing family and friends to ascertain Mr. Goulette’s cause of death.  Anyone with information can call state police at 315-366-6000.  Case agent Inv. Darren Forgea.

Lozipone, DanielSchool Bus Driver charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On Friday, March 11, 2016, State Police in Oneida arrested Daniel A. Lozipone, age 44, from Canastota, NY for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class “A” misdemeanor.

Lozipone, a school bus driver for the Canastota Central School District, is accused of exchanging text messages with a female student who is under 17 years of age, which were sexual in nature. The messages were exchanged both during and off school hours. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lincoln Court on April 4th, at 6:00 p.m.

Lincoln Man arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On March 11, 2016, State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations in Oneida charged a Lincoln man with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Daniel A. Lozipone, 44, of Clockville Road, Canastota, NY is accused of exchanging text messages that were sexual in nature with a victim younger than seventeen.1

Lozipone is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lincoln Court Monday March 14, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.

Woman who crashed car at Exit 33 (Verona) allegedly intoxicated

Verona, NY – On March 10, 2016, at approximately 7:39 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a one vehicle accident at Exit 33.  The investigation determined the driver of a 2007 Ford Focus struck one of the concrete barriers that divides each toll lane.  The driver of the vehicle, Laurie K. Lavoy, 52, of Schoharie, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  She was transported and processed at SP Syracuse where her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.23%.  She was subsequently charged with:
  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor
Lavoy was arraigned before the Town of Verona Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 bond.

Newport Woman arrested for Leandra’s Law

On March 9, 2016, State Police in Herkimer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Acme Rd in the Town of Frankfort.   The investigation revealed the operator of the vehicle, Crystal L. Jones, age 28 of Newport. NY was found to be Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Jones had her 2 year old son as a passenger in the vehicle at the time of arrest.   She was charged with DWAI-Drugs, Aggravated DWI-Child in Vehicle (Leandra’s Law), & Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Jones was arraigned in the Town of Litchfield Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility on $1,000 Cash/ $2,000 bond.

On March 9, 2016 at approximately 11:00pm, State Police in Herkimer responded to a reported Domestic Dispute in the Town of Winfield.  Investigation revealed that Jacob R. Bogart, age 21, of Home Rd, Ilion slashed the tire of a female’s vehicle.  Bogart was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and arraigned in the Town of Litchfield Court where he was release on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to return to the Town of Winfield Court on March 16, 2016 at 6:00pm.

Remsen Man arrested for violating order of protection

(Forestport – March 11, 2016) On Saturday, March 12, 2016, at approximately 2:30 am, State Police in Remsen received a report of an intoxicated male operating a Dodge Ram dump truck south bound on State Route 12 in the Town of Forestport.  A second call reports a domestic dispute involving the operator of that vehicle at the Stewarts Shop on State Route 12 in the Town of Trenton.

The investigation revealed that John J. Potter, age 43, of Remsen, repeatedly followed his wife in and out of local establishments and various roadways after repeated request by his wife for him to stop his actions. Potter’s acts violated an order of protection that was in place by the Town of Russia Court.  Potter was subsequently arrested and charged with one count each Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class a misdemeanor and Harassment 2nd, a violation. Potter was arraigned in the Town of Forestport Court and was released after posting bail. He is due back in court at a later date.

Mother and daughter arrested after physical altercation with husband/stepfather

On Friday, March 11, 2016, State Police in Herkimer responded to 562 State Route 51 in the Town of Winfield for a physical domestic in progress.  Subsequent investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred between the victim (Donald B Marriott), his wife (Karen L Marriott) and his step-daughter (Caroline Flint).

As a result of the investigation, Karen Marriott was arrested for Assault 2nd and Caroline Flint was arrested for Assault 3rd. They were arraigned in the Town of Litchfield court and released on their own recognizance.  They are scheduled to appear in the Town of Winfield Court on March 16th, 2016 at 6:00pm.

On March 12, 2016, State Police in Oneida arrested Andrew P. Kuppermann, age 56, from Wilbraham, MA for the following:

  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana, a class “B” misdemeanor
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation
  • DWAI – Drugs – VTL 1192-4 – an unclassified misdemeanor
  • Exposure of a Person – a Violation
  • Inadequate Headlights – VTL 375 2a1
  • Depositing Refuse on Highway – 1220a

Kuppermann was observed by patrol urinating next to a vehicle in the parking lot of the Rite Aid in the Village of Canastota.  He was then stopped after leaving the parking lot and subsequently arrested.  Troopers located 33 grams of Marijuana and a metal smoking device after a inventory search of his vehicle. He was arraigned in the Town of Lenox Court and was released on his own recognizance.

Clay Woman arrested on Felony DWI charges

State Police in North Syracuse arrested Jody L. Garofalo, age 45, from Clay, NY for Felony DWI, Reckless Driving and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

On March 9, 2016 at approximately 10:50pm, Garofalo was observed traveling at a high rate of speed on Brewerton Road in the Town of Salina approaching the intersection of Richfield Boulevard when she struck several metal sign posts and coming to rest northbound in the southbound lane.

Garofalo was arraigned in the Village of East Syracuse Court for Felony DWI (2 prior DWI convictions), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree (operating a vehicle while Revoked for DWI) and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.  She was remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $10,000 cash/$10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Salina Court on March 14, 2016 at 4pm.
