Just in time for Spring cleaning, two classes are being offered at the Cazenovia Public Library to help you sort through your personal collections. Join staff member Elisha Davies in the Community room March 30 for “How to Digitize Your Personal Archives” and April 6 for “How to Organize and Care for Your Personal Archives.”
How to Digitize Your Personal Archives: Wednesday, March 30, 7 p.m.
Have old documents, slides, photographs or home videos? The library is here to help give them a 21st Century makeover.
This class will cover the procedures and equipment used for converting your family history. Everyone will gain an understanding of the importance of a digital archive and also receive an invitation to revisit the library when equipment is available for in-house use during scheduled Conversion Labs. Stay tuned for these specially designated times.
How to Organize and Care for Your Personal Archives: Wednesday, April 6, 7 p.m.
Do you have piles of old family photos? Shoeboxes of letters? All are invited to the library for a closer look at how to organize your personal archives. You will walk away with tips and best practices for not only organizing the actual documents, but also understanding how digital tools can assist you.
If you are interested in attending, stop by or call the Library at 655.9322 to reserve a spot. These classes are free and open to the public. For more information, call 655-9322 or visit the Library’s Facebook page or website at www.cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.
