The Madison County Farm Bureau takes great pride in helping mentor and provide opportunities for the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders. Through financial support, County Farm Bureau programming and educational outreach, Farm Bureau members seek to make a lasting impact on the community.
The County Farm Bureau helped offset the costs for FFA student leaders from DeRuyter and Stockbridge Valley to attend the Governmental and Global Awareness Institute in Albany, a two-day conference t
hat engages students and local lawmakers.
In this intensive program, students gain knowledge of the legislative process and develop leadership skills that help them advocate on behalf of agriculture, education and the FFA.
“There is such great value for the students that take part in this conference,” said Madison County Promotion and Education Chair Johanna Bossard. I know they made a great case for the importance of adequate funding in the state budget for ag education.”
