The Canastota Canal Town Museum is announcing the 11th annual Canastota Canal Sweep as part of the statewide annual Canal Clean Sweep. The clean-up will be Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. The public is invited and encouraged to participate.
Each year the Canastota Canal Town Museum works with the state Canal Corporation, the Village of Canastota, the Canastota Rotary and Parks and Trails New York to promote the beautification effort within the village. The village is one of 150 communities across the state to participate.
We are asking organizations and individuals that care about Canastota and the Erie Canal to spend some time with your neighbors and assist in improving the appearance of our community.
There will be a limited supply of free “Canal Clean Sweep” tee shirts available for participants; please bring rakes, shovels and gloves. To participate, meet at the Canal Museum Education Center at 110 Canal St. or call 315.697.5002 and leave a message if you wish to participate. The museum will be open for participants to view after the event.
