4-4 Catch-Up & Mustard Day, April 17Help prepare Rogers Center for an exciting season of outdoor adventures by volunteering during the annual “Catch-Up & Mustard Day.” Friends of Rogers will be cleaning, raking, painting, and all-around preparing for an absolutely incredible summer season. Generously sponsored by Gilligan’s in Sherburne, “Catch-Up & Mustard Day” marks the beginning of National Environmental Education Week celebrations at Rogers Center.

Beginning at 11 a.m. on April 17, community volunteers will help Friends of Rogers “catch-up” on spring cleaning tasks, such as adding mulch to hiking trails, trimming stray branches from walkways, and removing invasive garlic mustard plants.

Thanks to “Catch-Up & Mustard Day” sponsor Gilligan’s, all pre-registered volunteers will be treated to free hot dogs for lunch, served with actual ketchup and mustard! Other snacks and treats will be provided as well. You can find Gilligan’s on Facebook at www.facebook.com/GilligansSherburne.

“We are extremely grateful to Gilligan’s for partnering with us,” said Simon Solomon, FOR executive director. “Since 2011, when Friends of Rogers saved Rogers Environmental Education Center from closing, we have relied on local community members and generous businesses such as Gilligan’s to support our activities, allowing this vital resource to be preserved – and to flourish.”

To pre-register as a “Catch-Up & Mustard Day” volunteer, call (607) 674-4733 or email execdir@FriendsofRogers.org. Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages.

Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
