businessFollowing a brief winter hiatus, The Horned Dorset Inn will reopen for the 2016 season April 28, ushering in its 38th year of fine dining with a continued emphasis on fresh farm-to-table ingredients.

Chef Aaron Wratten balances traditional French training with seasonal contemporary creations by combining produce from the restaurant’s own organic gardens with locally produced meats and cheeses.
Along with new menu selections, the restaurant will resume offering live jazz music on Friday evenings with “Alone Together—The Mollin-Clay Duo,” featuring Rich Mollin on bass and Carleton Clay on trumpet.

The music doesn’t stop there. Monthly Sunday dinner-concerts offer a variety of live music genres performed by talented musicians from throughout Central New York and other areas. These events benefit The Horned Dorset Colony, a non-profit artists’ residency program offering writers, composers and visual artists a one-month stay during which they can freely focus on their creative work.

Wratten also periodically shares some of his cooking expertise through free classes, which are held at the inn, open to the public, and announced on Facebook or by email.
